Supply and Demand...Or just GREED

I don't care what you say, Big Oil runs this country!  The decided how much profit they want to make and stick it to us.  I've been told it is the speculators who are driving the prices.  While that maybe what appears on the surface, I would be those same speculators are tied to Big Oil.  Just like those Washington Lobbyist, who buy the votes of Congress.  Oh, excuse me, they don't buy the vote, they just contribute to their war chest.  Perfectly innocent.

Dark Days Ahead

I have been silent on this blog for a time.  Nothing has changed.  Our country is still screwed up and the idiots in Washington just keep on ignoring the will of the people.  I see a movement that is going to take hold and shake this country up if things continue down the path we are taking.
Forget the political science majors and all the analyst who think they got this all figured out.  The common man is really fed up with the politics as usual and will make their voice heard once again.  The problem is, they won't take it far enough.  We need a revolution.  Time to shut down D.C. and take things into our own hand.  Our jobs, our futures, and that of our children are being sold out from under us, or stolen our from under us.
The average american, if they have a job, can not afford to live.  Fuel cost, unemployment, no health insurance and the likes are pushing people to the brink.  And unless the common people unite we will only see things get worse.

An Open Letter to Congress

I really don't expect any of you in Congress to read this let alone respond but yet I will write it.

First of all, to those of you that have stood and made an attempt to help pass the UE extention, I want to say thank you. At the time of this writting we are one vote away from passage of this much needed bill.

Secondly, to those of you who have opposed this, called for us to be placed in concentration camps and made comments about us being lazy, drug addicts and no wanting to work, I hope in November you loose everything you have and have to file bankruptcy. I am not being mean or hateful, I just think you need to find out what it feels like to suddenly be forced to stand in line after line for jobs that don't exist and for help that never comes.

If it were in my power you would not get any health care benefits, any retirement and you would work for free for a year or two to payback the money you have stolen from the tax payers. Then I would have you put in a maximun security prision for the same number of years you have served in Congress.

I lost my job 1 and 1/2 years ago due to the economic downturn and corporate greed. After 6 months of looking for a job, I gave up and went back to school. No goverment grant was available for me. Couldn't refinance my house because the mortagage company you helped bail out wouldn't work with me, nor would any of my creditors.

I am still unable to find a job. I don't blame Congress for this. I realize you can't force people to buy things, or hire people. But when you fail to act on helping the unemployed you help to put this country farther into economic trouble.

You will instantly bail out the auto industry, the banks, Fanny Mae, Freddy Mac, and the rest of your buddies, but continue to stand in the way of the unemployed getting help.

Three days ago, July 7th, I filed bankruptcy. Thanks to you, I can no longer draw my UE. So, what government programs do you have now that are gonning to help me?

Over the course of this year, I have been contacting you on a range of issues that directly affect the jobless - jobs bills, unemployment benefit extensions, COBRA subsidies, food stamps and mortgage relief. I have asked my friends, family and neighbors to join me in this effort.

From my perspective, state and federal officials have a duty to do all they can to end this economic trauma. But the latest example of leaving town for The Fourth of July recess without taking action on unemployment benefits, dropping COBRA help and not creating a Tier 5 benefit tells me that Congress isn't listening. But the early primary results also say loud and clear that voters are turning up the volume on their demands.

I want to work! I need to work! And I will be working and voting to see that my elected representatives are equally committed to getting me back to work

A More Perfect Union

The Constitution of the United States contains the words, "in order to form a more perfect union." When those words were penned it held the hope of a nation, that was just beginning its existence in a new world. At that time, a more perfect union was desired between the people and the government it formed.
How fast things changed. Government has come complete circle. We left the tyranny of King George and the British Rule only to find ourselves in one mell of a hiss. Crooked politicians, questionable ethics, and loose interpretation of bad laws have lead us away from the road to a more perfect union.
But one thing stands clear, the words read, a more perfect union, not a perfect union. It is time for the common man to rise up and take back the rights we were guaranteed. We need honest men and women to step up, run for office and have those who are of the same cloth, help get them elected.

United We Stand

This great county of our once stood united against a common enemy, King George and his taxation without representation and the freedom to worship as one saw fit. The more things change the more they remain the same.
Today, we are still taxed without being represented and the waters of religious freedom have been muddied with overzealous followers. I am not represented in Congress because I am not a special interest group, a lobbyist, or a millionaire. Yes, I believe the government is corrupt. And as for religious freedom, we really don't have it and never will. Both issues are too broad and extreme for us to agree on.
The Supreme Court, a.k.a, cast of idiots, feels the need to legislate from the bench as opposed to uphold, "these truths". Lawyers run for Congress and then sell their souls to the highest bidder. Let's take this country back and allow only farmers and seasonal workers, tradesmen, and common citizens to run the government. To borrow an old phrase ( and take my creative writing liberties), Lawyers belong in the courtroom, not Congress!!!

Problem Solved

The Republicans don't want to approve the UE extention bill till it is funded. Here are the ways to do it.

Make them work for min wage, or better yet, volunteer for FREE. At least then we might get our monies worth. And here is a novel idea, they only get paid when they are in chambers.

If we cut there salaries or get to vote on their raises I think we could get close to funding this bill. Then take away their perks, the free mailings, their retirement fund and turn it over to us, I could stimulate the economy with it.

Make them drive their own cars, all of them, President and all. Better yet let them take public transportation.

Make them pay rent on their offices in the white house...After all they are their to serve the people.

1 week vacation and then back to work. I will agree to regular office hours, 9-5 and that is all you get paid for.

They are not allowed to have a second job and draw a salary from congress. One or the other. They have to forfiet their pay and give it to the Unemployed...there, this bill is funded in full, by a bunch of fools.
